Yep!
And I also won't tell you the shields/component status of the enemy ship unless you have the scanner escort in range of them 
You get to know:
- Location of non-cloaked ships
- Firing actions, movements.
- Anything about your own ships.
- Details of one enemy ship per turn if it is within 6 of your scanner escort.

Well, the big advertising point to begin with was the 1gb of storage. But it also uses the google searching algorithm with your email, so you can easily find old Messages, etc., Groups Messages by label instead of folder (a message can have multiple labels), filtering options, etc. It's really cool so far
