Re: Newbie Slug Fest - Mose Hansen game - OPEN
Guys, I think it is 24h, I just had made a comment that I would be out of town a couple of Saturday's this month and was wondering if we could temporarily switch it to 48h on those days (although I could just get a sub or staleI suppose).
Personally, I think 48h is ideal. Most everyone is going to take a turn daily, basically making it a 24h game, but 48h affords you the luxury of being gone for a day without staling, or if the wife is sick of watching you pour over the domII manual and dozens of spreadsheets and charts to plan your next move.

Re: Newbie Slug Fest - Mose Hansen game - OPEN
I already replied that I will change to 48 hour upon request. You have already requested it for the future, so all you need to to tell me right before you need it changed. Oh, and pick a race too.
I intend for it to stay 24 hours for the most part, so I will switch back and forth as people need the extra time.
I dont like a permanent 48+ hour thing because of people who go AWOL without saying anything. It can slow the game to a crawl. However, late game when the position is difficult, especially on a large map, then 48 hours is good. But on inland with only 13 of 30 VPs required, I doubt we will ever get to that point.

Re: Newbie Slug Fest - Mose Hansen game - OPEN
I'm very happy this game is going very fast, considering part of the players have work to do etc.
But ...
I put my hands ahead beforetime, I have to go to Rome for work (this is a rare event indeed) next thursday 16 and I'll return the day after, friday 17 (oh oh ...). I don't know if the Last turn I can make will be thursday morning very early (about 07AM) or afternoon (about 05PM). The next turn will be probably friday at 11PM.
This means an idle time of 55-70 hours.
Could you wait for me? It is very difficult for me to find a substitute for some turns, but if you can't accept it I'll try to find one or I'll be idle.
PS: all my times are GMT+1 (central europe), so adjust times accordingly for yor zone (west coast is -9 and est coast is
-6, I think)
Thank you.

Re: Newbie Slug Fest - Mose Hansen game - OPEN
No problem changing this to 48 hours upon request. I said in the thread that I would do that, so the other players cannot legitimately complain.
Having never done this before, I am not all that certain how it works. I assume that I must make the change BEFORE you move so it will be in effect while you are away. if anyone knows for sure how this works on Mose Hansen, I would appreciate your wisdom.
What you need to do is post in here on Wednesday evening (your time) and remind me to do this. I will adjust the time about 7 PM my time. I am GMT-7, so this will be in the middle of the night in Italy.
You can make your move on Thursday and then have a minimum of 48 hours to make the next one. While you are away, I will change it back to 24 hours, unless that weekend is when Krool Death needs the extra time. In that is the case, I will leave it at 48 hours throughout the weekend.

By the way, your math is wrong. Are you a lawyer or something?
From 7 AM Thursday to 11 PM Friday is only 40 hours.

Re: Newbie Slug Fest - Mose Hansen game - OPEN
That's funny. Well it looks like deccan beat me fair and square. I haven't played too many races. I'll give the big bad race Ermor a try. A bit leery of doing so, b/c I don't have the skill of those master players. How about I be a kinder, gentler undead. You know, a compassionate zombie leader spreading disease, death, and bad social policy.

Re: Newbie Slug Fest - Mose Hansen game - OPEN
actually ive been thinking about it and im going to withdraw from the game
I have college starting this week and combined with work I am not sure its a good idea to jump into another game until I get settled in. So Pythium is free if anybody wants to choose it.
I do want to play another game with you Panther but its just a bad time and I am currently in 4 games still(was 5 but our other game ended so its 4 now).
Sorry about the withdraw. Talk to you later Panther.
