well i beat the impossible odds...
pardon if this is a newbie post but i've only been playing for a few days. Last night i was in a battle with an ai opponent (fazrah) who not only massivly outgunned me but also had 3x as many planets. i managed to hold my head above water using missile ships attack and run away tactics but i certainly wasnt making any headway on him. then all the sudden i noticed from the "score" screen that his ship numbers were dropping like a rock and i certainly wasnt to blame. after a few turns he had almost no ships left and his score was next to nothing so i demanded (and got) a surrender. now i've got all his systems and found out where his ships went. his population was so unhappy everywhere that none of his planets were producting anything (-100% to production due to happiness), they are still all POd now that i've taken over and since i don't know what ticked them off in the first place i'm not sure how to make them happy enough to start producing again.
if anyone has any ideas on what i should do would be very helpful.

Research Troops, which requires Construction theoretical technology. Design small troops that have nothing but a cockpit, to make them as cheap as possible. Build tons of these police troops, and drop 60 to 100 on each rioting planet, depending on how many it takes. Also, leave 80 or so on all of your worlds, to keep your planets from growing unhappy due to most events.

Party depends on YOUR happyiness type, are you peaceful, neutral or bloodthirsty ? In addition just build urban pacification centres and wait a few turns

Imperator Fyron :
hmm, didn't know about the troops. i'll try dropping a few in tonight and seeing how it goes. thats alot of planets though (like 300) i'm tempted to just leave them and take out the Last remaining AI empire as fast as possible. thanks!
ragnarok-x:
im playing a peaceful and emotionless society (funny thing is that the planets mood on these aquired systems is also emotionless) can't build the urban centers though since they aren't producing anything on the planets in question
thanks folks!

Wait, you tool the Emotionless trait? Planetary happiness can not change in that case, so the planets will always be rioting...

Re: well i beat the impossible odds...
You can move the population off of the planets, scrap all facilities, and abandon the colonies. Then, recolonize the planets and put the people back. Or just conquer everyone and end the game.

Hmm, I thought that bug was fixed ages ago, and now emotionless planets always produced as if they were Happy?

Are you thinking of this?
Version 1.60:
11. Fixed - Emotionless races cannot be induced to riot through intelligence or natural events.
