The server is back up, and should stay up indefinitely now that I've identified and fixed the problem that was crashing it. (Video card overheating to the point that the fan melted to th chip.)
The server is currently running version 3.04, and has a 48 hour time delay before the first turn starts. I'm still looking for a good email notification program that will work with my setup.

The server has been rebooted. I'm not sure what crashed it.

any chance of a slowdown over Christmas? I don't know about anyone else, but I will be out of town and access to the game may be hard. Anyone else in favour of a hiatus for a few days?
