Exactly this. Gluttony is a new icon, but e.g. Celestial Servants of Tien Chi have had it for a long time.

Exactly. This is best described with Onis (EA jomon) : flavor text explain that as demons they do not nead to eat, but that they love to eat, even while humans inferior are left to starve.

Which simply means that you can't do combined armies using them.
