Re: Allegiances 2 (Large Team-Based Game, RECRUITI
Um...there isn't an Ermor in this game AFAIK. Maybe I am confused.

There is no Ermor(as far as I can tell atleast) but somebody staled their first turn.

Re: Allegiances 2 (Large Team-Based Game, RECRUITI
Just some random comments...
I can say this because I've had pretty good partner (Yay Thrawn!) but for the next team game I would make it where players signed up as a team, rather than randomly assign them. I feel kinda bad ripping into players that obviously didn't have much of a chance because of their partners quit or staled a few times.

*shrug* Given that way back at the beginning of the thread it was suggested that partners share out their passwords with their teammate in case there was an issue with staling/quitting I can't really agree with your reasoning Vel. I know DrP got someone to take a turn for me when he thought I had even the slightest chance of staling (I got it in with about 3 hours left on the host clock), so anything beyond a single stale from a nation is a failure on the part of both members of the team, not just the delinquent player IMO. Not that I'm condoning people abandoning games, especially in a team situation, but repeated stales are avoidable.
Not to say choosing teammates would be bad, but I kind of like the chance for a vet and a newer player to work together, might help the learning curve quite a bit for the newcomer.

This assumes you are stuck with someone who will give away their password and who communicates. I'm not giving my password to Thrawn (of course, I don't stale and would find a replacement if I had to leave). I actually think it's kinda cheesy to have your partner play your nation... I mean whats the point of a team game then?

Re: Allegiances 2 (Large Team-Based Game, RECRUITI
Hey, I said *chance*! Obviously we lucked out into a really good team.
As to the password thing, I wasn't saying it was ideal, but I don't think it qualifies as cheesy to play your partner nation for 2-3 turns while you hunt for a sub. I think that's a lot different than just running a double nation for the length of the game, maybe you disagree.
I also wouldn't hesitate to ask for a replacement partner if I had doubts about them at the beginning due to a lack of communication and a lack of getting their pass. (Obviously if I trusted my partner it wouldn't be a big deal if they didn't want to share, but if they were uncommunicative, unknown, and unwilling to give out their PW I'd feel ok counting that as a full 3 strikes)
And to clarify, I think a premade team game would be awesome, I just think there's a place for random pairings as well.

Re: Allegiances 2 (Large Team-Based Game, RECRUITI
Any chance of a pause over Christmas? For some reason my dad thought it was a good idea to unplug our home computer(with dominion on it), and it doesn't look like it'll be up until after Christmas(staled the last turn because of that).
