3.10 less stable
while playing the game I usually alt-tab a great deal while the turn is processing.. I never had much problems but these days (3.10 days?) I get errors and shut-downs when I do that.
Have others noticed this too?
Could it be 3.10?
Anything I can do to change this (except not ALT-TAB-ing cus I need to do stuff )

Re: 3.10 less stable
Do you play the game in windowed mode? If so, there shouldn't be a problem.
If not - start doing it .

Re: 3.10 less stable
I've had several failures with 3.10, either a sudden disappearance of the program (presumably a stack overflow) or a hang during battle resolution. I'm running it in a window.

Re: 3.10 less stable
After I downloaded 3.10 I had battles (sometimes even not during the battles) freeze & hang up often forcing me to reboot completely. However, I didn't attribute this to 3.10 since I also had it occur once while on the internet when Dom3 was not running. I ran different virus/trojan scans, but they found nothing. I stopped having this problem after I disabled Windows automatic update (I update when I want) & disabled Task Scheduler (I never use this). However, all this is probably more due to my quirky XP system than anything with 3.10.

Re: 3.10 less stable
I've actually had fewer problems than with 3.8, but I switched computers so it's not exactly a controlled comparison.

Re: 3.10 less stable
Never had a prob for me. I ALT-tab all the time - pasting in screen shots to make a powerpoint w/all the units. I must have ALT-tabbed a million times now! No issues.

Re: 3.10 less stable
Both versions have been rock solid for me- but I've also disabled gl extensions because I'm using Intel "Graphics". I think a lot of alt-tab errors are due to graphics, but I'm basing that on nothing solid, just a hunch. Resolution changes? Is your game set to your same res. as the desktop?
As an experiment, does it still crash if you create a shortcut to the game's exe
Code:
"C:\whatever Location\Dom3 folder\dom3.exe" --noglext
There'd be a way to fix it other than disabling it, but if this did/did not work, it would tell me something.

Re: 3.10 less stable
I avoid alt-tabbing now, since my graphics card sometimes goes on the fritz. I'm not sure though if it was 3.10 that caused that, or because my graphics card is kind of old and worn-out. It only started happening recently though, so who knows?
