PBW newbie question about cloak ship
Could a cloak ship hide in the sun sector like nebulae and storm, it can't be detect by a level 3 sensor?
If yes, then the cloak ship passing the normal space and my L3 sensor should see it before it enter the sun. I've never check the playback, there's a chance that I missed it?
Someone threaten me that a cloak star destoryer hiding in my system. We are at turn 66 in a low reseach cost game. All of my system lanuched the L3 sensor sat. at around turn 35-40. That's very hard to build a cloak star destoryer before that. I guess it will take at least 1.5 years to built a star destoryer on a large population planet, 150% output and L3 shipyard.
Is there a chance that someone can built it so early?

Re: PBW newbie question about cloak ship
We started with 5 good planets. From what we know at turn 65, that player can generate 130K research per turn and at tech level 92.
Thank you.

Maybe... it would be very difficult, but maybe. To have lvl3 cloaking tech *as well* seems unlikely. You imght want to drop a few mines around your stars, just in case.
As for detection...
Cloaking devices and natural cloaking (ie storms) *do* stack - ie if your sensors could see through his cloak *or* a storm, he could theoretically be able to hide from you by combining the storma nd device cloaks.
Still, sounds like a bluff to me. Don't blame me if your system gets detonated, mind...

Re: PBW newbie question about cloak ship
No, that is incorrect. They do not stack. A cloaked ship hiding in a storm would get the highest level of cloaking by either the storm or the device, but not both added together. Some storms though can have higher level obscuration than the highest level sensors. At least some nebulae do , I am not positive any storms do not that I think about it.
But if you have level 3 sensors and can't see his ship on the sun, then he isn't there. He might be hiding in a storm elsewhere in the system, but you would see him if he was on the sun. You should move all the ships you can spare to protect the sun immediately. As long as he can't get to the sun, he can't blow it up.

Also note that colonizing Ruins planets can give someone unexpected leaps in tech.
