Re: Libra - Running - Casual EA CBM with various other mods
Probably could do with some clarification from Starshine_Monarch.
However I'm treating the game as pretty much like a game against the AI but with the realisation that my neighbours are somewhat sentient. Also as I don't have to check PMs, chat on IRC etc the only external interaction out-of-game I need is e-mailing my turn to Llamaserver. Its like RAND but with potential for some simple diplomacy.

so i think he's saying that he doesn't think you should have announced to the world that you and neif were fighting. seems a little petty to me, but i could be technically against the rules.

Re: Libra - Running - Casual EA CBM with various other mods
Well I'm not saying its wrong; you can do it in-game as well by sending a message 'to all'
I believe the rationale behind it is similar to games like http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=43097
and other RAND games; however in this case as we know who the players are at least we can still use the board for stuff like asking for extensions + the admin can play the game too etc. I think there was another variation where all diplomacy could only be done publicly on the messageboard.

The communications thing was really more of an experiment. I wanted to see how limiting comms to in-game messages would affect strategy and planning between players.
I'd have preferred all messages pertaining to diplomacy and strategy be kept in-game, but that's really not something I can enforce. Please try to keep it in game from now on, Trumanator, as well as the rest of us.

Water pipe burst right over Frozen's computer, so he will probably need a delay until he can figure out a way to get his turns done.

Damn, that sucks. Game has been delayed 24 hours. Just ask if you need more.

Looks like I'm going to be gone for the weekend. I'd just ask that if I don't get a chance to get the next turn in (I have this one in) and it looks like I might stale that it is delayed 24 hours.

Re: Libra - Running - Casual EA CBM with various other mods
Due to the holiday season, and all that comes with it, from the 18th to around newyears I'll be unable to post turns. Now I can either post for a short term sub, but I doubt I'll be able to find anyone at this time of year willing.
The second option I'm about to propose is that we simply take a break until the holiday season is over. This of course would have to be a group decision, however I've seen this work for several other games. Anyhow, I'm gone for the weekend (and have my current turn in) so I'll check back on Monday to see what was decided and post for a sub if needed.

I'm more than willing to give everyone a break then. In fact, I think I'd prefer it.
