Re: upkeep
Some do. Trolls for example. Most do not.

Re: upkeep
Trolls require only new threads to post in. That's not much in the way of upkeep.

Re: upkeep
if a unit has a gold cost than it will cost upkeep, if it doesn't than it won't... for example, Bandar Log and Patala can summon Kailasa's Yaksha and Yakshini mages. since they're recruitable mages for Kailasa they have a gold cost, so they will cost upkeep for Bandar Log and Patala. however, if you summon say a Bane Lord, than he has no gold cost, nobody can recruit them normally, so he won't cost any upkeep.
that's the reason why mid-late game is dominated by summoned armies instead of nationals. upkeep free, and you still need the gold for mages and infrastructure(forts+labs+temples).

Re: upkeep
If they have goldcost, they will cost upkeep.
You can look up the goldcost in edi's database. It is in his sig.

Re: upkeep
You can also look on the wiki: http://dom3.servegame.com/wiki/Slave
So Slaves have a goldcost of 2 and therefore an upkeep of,.... 0.13333333 gold per turn.

Re: upkeep
Maenads have no upkeep. Of course, the Pans you have recruiting them have lots of upkeep.
They do, of course, still need to eat.

Re: upkeep
Look in Edi's Database
http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showthread.php?t=42819
Find the unit you want to know about. Look at column 'AE', which shows a units gold cost to hire.
If the figure in this column is zero, then there are no upkeep costs for that unit. If there is a figure in this column, then divide this figure by 15 for the monthly upkeep costs (or divide by 30 if the unit is sacred)
From Edi's Database, Maenads have zero cost to hire, so have zero upkeep costs. Mictlan Slaves have a hire cost of 2, so upkeep is just above 0.1.
Edit: Triple Ninjad. Ahhhh FFS!
