Re: Waspworld (NEWBIE GAME), uploading pretenders
mockingbird should have his pretender in tomorrow, at which point I'll start the game.
puntocom, no problem with Ermor. If there was, I would have disallowed them along with R'lyeh!
So, Ragnar, is that you who's in as Arcoscephale? Are you playing them instead of Pythium? (I ask out of curiosity, and so I know whether to remove the Pythium pretender submitted)

Re: Waspworld (NEWBIE GAME), uploading pretenders
NO, I am going to stay Pythium (I stayed up toooooo late screwing around with it last night to change now), thanks for checking though.
And Fantoman, yes, you are right, it DID look and sound funny as I look back at it. I guess I was sensitive to the discussion I had with GB about this very thing and after screwing up and using his computer....
It was like this whole damn thing was scripted JUST the way he said he didn't want it to happen, and I was waiting for the other shoe to drop (or worse, he cut me off of his internet connection as I am in Grad school and money is REAL hard to come by right now). We discussed this last night and he said if you where serious you would have gone to him (as Sept somebody did on the Traitors game (which is the game he wanted me to start with) as this guy knew the IP address right off since GB has been on 2 winning teams in Noobs vs Vets).
He also said that from all he has heard, you were a good guy and told me to just be up front and things will work out and that I wouldn't be around long enough for them to even notice me (grrrrrrrrrrr).
Thanks for responding, we BOTH appreciate it.

So... if Ragnar didn't upload an Arcoscephale pretender, who did?

Re: Waspworld (NEWBIE GAME), uploading pretenders
It wasn't me as I stayed with Pythium.
My folks are over for dinner and my dad is standing right over my shoulder. He said that in a game that he had played in a year or so ago, some new guy kept sending in a pretender (hijacking the game) thinking that all you had to do to play was send in the pretender without being accepted. He says that it happened 3 times before the right guy could get his in and the game started.
I don't have any idea if this is the case, but I have been on some gamesites where you just log into the game when they start one to play without saying anything, the first 5 or 8 (or whatever) that log in play. If it isn't Morningstar can you just kick it out and have him load?

Re: Waspworld (NEWBIE GAME), uploading pretenders
I just tried to upload my pretender and the upload failed due to the game being full.
Did the moderator decide to boot me after all due to my late submission?

It happens sometimes that some clueless nutjob joins games without asking. The admin can just remove it.

Re: Waspworld (NEWBIE GAME), uploading pretenders
I have received my turn and loaded it with no problem. However, when I try and play it I get a german sounding name (nagot nik Fel...sorry too lazy to go back and write down the correct error), and says a need the map Shawriver_som.tga.
Now I have D/L the map on the fist page here and EVERY Shawriver map I could find. If someone would be kind enough to post the right map I will have my turn in quickly.
Thanks

"Något gick fel" is swedish and means "something went wrong", and it's the general error alert of dom3.
Regarding the map. There is nothing wrong with your .tga file except that it has the wrong name. You need to rename it exactly: Shahrivar_Som.tga
