Re: Second War of Loemendor, game underway
No i think i'll end the game, it is going nowhere anyway. Mictlan is gathering ressources faster than we can take them down. And with his main rival away it wont be fun.
If there no complaint about that i then announce the victory of Teraswaerto !

No complaint for me. I'm sorry to let you down. And I realized too late that Mictlan was so strong (around turn 75, when all elem. Kings/Queens had declined to answer my call -- Nexus was the high point of his domination).
I'm rather proud of my combo Astral Tempest + Enchanted Forest/Carrion Reanimation. Too bad I had too few astral mages
Exciting game. Well done Teraswaerto! and thank you all for the good times.
cheers

Re: Second War of Loemendor, game underway
Alright. I was about to start using Master Enslave on Machaka's larger armies, and to start attacking R'lyeh underwater in earnest so the game would've have probably been over anyway soon.
Thanks everyone, was fun, though I was surprised by the passivity of the other nations and the fact everyone kept fighting each other when Mictlan was emerging as the real threat.
The Nexus ended up costing more gems than I got out of it before it was dispelled so the only thing it achieved was to unite everyone against me.

Re: Second War of Loemendor, game underway
Yay Mictlan! A very good victory :-)
I had hoped to eke out one victory against you, by using master enslave myself (together with 15 kitted SCs and several thousand disposable undead). But I am confident that, even if this had worked, you would have just taken stock and then beaten the living daylights out of me - so perhaps it is just as well that we are ending now!
Also, i am having to massively wind down my Dom3 commitments, so this helps me a lot.
Bullock: many thanks for taking over as the game admin.

I would join it, but earcaraxe isn't around anymore. Does Bullock have any interested in admining 3rd war of Loemendor? The map is wonky and sort of unbalanced, but that makes for a different type of game which is fine also.
Anyone else interested in writing a sort of post-mortem of their nation? Why things went the way they did, that sort of thing. I think I'll put something together today.

Sure, sounds like a good plan. I'll happily pull together something on MA Ermor, which will mostly consist of "and then Agartha and I headbutted each other again, and it was kinda painful for both of us"

Re: Second War of Loemendor, game underway
That wasn't Agartha's head
Agartha's post-mortem goes something a little along the lines of R'lyeh wanted a secession of water provinces conquered by Agartha or he would try to get everybody to help him gang up on Agartha.
The aftermath of such extortion was Agartha butted Ermor's head with his left boot, seized R'lyeh's capitol with his right arm, played footsy with TC with his right foot and flailed his left hand in a flurry trying to stave off Abysia until Machaka could eat them.
Against any 1, or even 2 of those nations I could have mowed over, but the combination of them in 4 distinct directions and very different strengths and vulnerabilities made it exceedingly difficult to do anything but achieve a 30 turn stalemate

Re: Second War of Loemendor, game underway
I went with a D9F4W4 improsoned master lich. Starting position was horrible, in the middle of a bunch of wastelands with border mountains on all sides. I knew I wanted to get a 2nd fort up as soon as possible for more sacred recruitment and that Mictlan's cheapest forts were in mountain terrain so I struck South immediately, East and West could wait.
As soon as I encountered Machaka Southwest I reached out diplomatically looking for some kind of peace or NAP and he agreed. Expanding East I encountered Vanheim, who lost a bunch of weakly blessed sacreds to my expansion party. We had some talks, and he seemed to have given up really. I went ahead and attacked him.
Around this time we were setting up a joint attack on Ulm with Machaka. Ulm lost.
After that there was a lot solidifying the alliance with Machaka and talking about who to attack next. We agreed to each attack different targets while providing support if needed/possible. Machaka went on to fight Abysia in long drawn out war that he won in the end. I attacked Pythium who crumbled quickly, though taking his forts did take a good while since I did not want to fail a siege against some crazy theurg communion.
Around this time I decided I would attack whoever was south of Pythium, and began to give gold Pangaea and use Leprosy on Tien Chi, to even out their war. The rest is recent history.
