Default Milkshap 3D program

Could someone please tell me where I can find the 3D program called "Milkshape"? I heard it was very inexpensive and enough to make 3D models for Space Empires. I can't seem to find it. I had the address before, but can't remember it now.

Any other suggestions for 3D programs would be appreciated too.

Thanks!

Whilst on the subject of apps to do SE ship models - anyone know anything about some ST game ships saved with the extension 'mod'.

Hence: shipname.mod

TIA

I think maybe the ships in Homeworld might have .mod endings...although I'm just guessing.

Be that as it may - what editor is capable of working with those files?

Thanks - I found it - but it might not be a bad idea to upload it here in case others want to use it.

Apparantly there is an app called ShipEdit which works with the app you've emntioned.

There is a program by the name SCME (can't remember what it stands for) that can be used to open the xxxx.mod files used by star fleet battles. I think the easiest way to find it would be to search the SFB forums. SCME extracts the file into either a 3ds or dxf format (can't remember for sure) so that you can work with it in a 3d graphics program. I thought you still needed to convert the file into another format before you can open it with milkshape, as an alternative you can also convert those files to either POV-ray, or Moray which are also cheep 3d programs.

I just checked and I still have SCMEv0.7 on my computer here at work; if you can't find it let me know and I can email it to you.

Actually ShipEdit doesn't work well at all giving me a 'No UI" message. As for Milkshape - it's of no value to me because ST mods are not on its list.

ModViewer allows me to view and rotate a mod file but it won't render out to a jpg or other. So I get around that by using HyperSnap to grab the screen.

SCME will convert mod files to lwo so at least I'll be able to work with the mod meshes.

Thanks for all the input.
