Re: Qwerty - MA team game. Running
I need to discuss some things with my teammate who went fishing before the new turn occurs so if he doesn't return in time, I'd like to pause the game for a couple of hours or so.

Enough!
Proclamation from T'ien Ch'i - Agartha.
After facing terrific unluck this turn and after receiving notification that in two turns six more nations will attack us we decided to stop playing. In fact, we are extremely exhausted by the last 45 turns of never-ending fight. If we were victorious at some moments it was because we worked really hard on our turns and really co-operated with each other. I can speak for myself, I devoted about 3 hours to each turn and even more to discussions and I'm really tired, we both are tired of this endless fight and we don't want all this to last (even more with game progress) for another 50 turns.
I'm sad. We really counted on victory here but games with open graphs are evil and I probably will never play one again. Being (or seeming) strong means that you will always be ganged upon by a horde of smaller nations.
Enough words. Goodbye and good luck.
p.s. To those of you who still think that TC and Agartha are uber nations, I will once again say that in my opinion they both are below average in MA.
p.p.s. Please, decide who will be the game admin and contact me)

ano, I'm sorry to hear that you guys feel that way. I can sympathize with your sentiments b/c I have been in similar situations in past MP games. However, in games with graphs on, the gang on the leader is a fact of life. It means that the wolf has to hide in sheep skin. Showing blunt raw power will usually get one ganged upon and stomped to death quickly. In that respect this game was extraordinary since you weren't ganged upon consistently - meaning you were constantly at war but not against as many as five or six teams at one time - so in that respect you were actually lucky until now.
I also understand that its a lot of work to do each turn and that it gets tiresome after a while. In any case, I for one, would be happy if you change your minds and keep playing. Yes, you will probably (well - hopefully for me at least) get crushed by all the nations ganging on you but that's to be expected when you are the leader with such a vast advantage over every single team.
In any case if your decision is final and you'd also like to transfer admin responsibilities then I'm willing to take them on myself. I'll carry them out w/o regards to whether or not I'm still in the game or have a viable chance at victory.

Re: Qwerty - MA team game. Running
Oh and ano, I want reiterate my opinion of your team.
I think you played really well together, you have optimized your turns to achieve the maximum with what you had. You have planned and executed really well and I confess that even this old dog has learned a thing or two from our never ending skirmishes.
IMHO Agartha is not a super powerful nation. I think its ok in MP. I think that TC is awesome. In almost every MP I played with TC on board it shined. I think that your build as a team was very successful and capitalized well on the synergy between your nations so the sum was greater that the total of the parts.
Some nation teams were less lucky. I think that Ctis and Man are a good example. A team of mediocre to weak nations that has little synergy between them. No complaints here, just stating my opinion.

Re: Qwerty - MA team game. Running
P.S.
Agartha is strong, but not uber. Tien Chi is strong, but not uber. Together they are uber because they cover each other's weaknesses like nobody else.
Tien Chi mages crafting almost all worthy items at con4, easy access to Well and then Forge, immortal extra-fat pretender, later extremly resilient thugs.
Yeah, you played your cards well and got lucky (not to belittle your achievement, luck is necessary in Dominions). But your cards were still way stronger than other team's in my opinion.
As for open graphs - yes, it makes looking weak while you are clear winner harder.

Re: Qwerty - MA team game. Running
Well, yes, the decision is final.
Thanks for good words. As for TC, it's a late-game powerhouse. We had a very, very good clam and especially fetish economy and big plans for the next turns. However, in early game it is extremely vulnerable with not many ways to defend itself. After playing Shinuyama in the parallel game i must they that IMO these nations can't even be compared in their power.

Re: Qwerty - MA team game. Running
Thats why I say your team was over the roof. Your vulnerability to rushes was compensated by immortal SC Oracle; Agartha's limited magic paths was covered by your mages. Easy access to globals makes it even worse.
And then BOTH nations become powerhouses.
And btw, TC isnt that 'vulnerable'. Good troops (better than many other nations have), nice choice of gods. You tried to convince us that your position isnt much stronger than mere graphs suggest; now you claim your choice of nations was weakish as well... both claims are very funny.
