Much appreciated!
The ulmish scouts had long reported that the lands of Midgard were rife with mages and other powerful magics, and when the news of the pending war with Utgard came the scouts redoubled their efforts to ascertain the extent to which Midgard had prepared their military, since the early war with Mictlan was doubtless no longer a measure of their might.
The scouts were not surprised, but not happy, to see the full extent of the arsenal Midgard had at its disposal, artifacts of surprising power, armywide enchantments, masses of battle mages raining down lightning and trying to get into the minds of their opponents.
Thus it was decided that the war could not be allowed to transpire without some form of intervention, and while the tricky lizards of C'tis were proving difficult to completely subdue [due to what I percieved as a bug, since when I stormed your fort some turns after the big battle I had gotten zero scouting reports saying you had anything in it, and I assumed that the rout had killed your forces, otherwise I would have sent more than 3 stupid commanders to get slaughtered...], teh sanguine counts positioned themselves do do some raiding of the Midgard rear to hopefully disrupt their income and force their armies to respond.
These forays were successful, and will continue while our scouts search for better targets, and our armies reform themselves to repulse whatever forces Midgard may chose to send against us. We caution both Agartha and Pythium that while it may seem tempting to join your lots to that of Midgard the end result will not be beneficial for you, as the longer Midgard is allowed to project their massive research and mage advantage the less hope any of us will have.

PS. I would have posted this sooner, but my time is getting squeezed, and the forums were apparently down last night, or at least I couldn't get into them. I didn't really want my entering of the war against Midgard to come as a complete surprise (not that I think it did anyway, but Midgard and I have never really communicated on anything), and I hope to see some real fireworks now
