Re: Random Nations , Late Era (Players Wanted)
Whooo, it's only turn 18 and one player is already... terminated. And I don't think he'll be back.

I'll be back, just not in this universe.
Rushed and crushed by Patala with a army of elephants btw. I was on the island.
The irony of calling my god Terminater and then being the 1st to be terminated is very funny.

Re: Random Nations , Late Era (Players Wanted)
So Patala will control all of the island eh?
I can't imagine having 100+ provinces and still playing the Ashen Empire. Turns already take me 3x longer than any other game... I feel like a garbage man - I manage and collect trash (units) and transport it somewhere quickly to get incinerated.

No, not all of it, for there is a small little village left which still holds out against the Patalian invaders ... err, no, what I meant is: Marignon is supposedly looking for some sunny vacation island for their nation, too.

Re: Random Nations , Late Era (Players Wanted)
Well, given the extreme oppression that the Terminator was inflicting on his populace when I liberated them from his cruel rulership I think I have done the island people a great favor.
We hope Marignon's tour group enjoyed their stay, but as we just told them, mating season is starting, and sometimes the apes get a little...violent. They will hopefully be leaving the island peacefully, as we would hate for any accidents to occur. I doubt a war would be profitable for them, given their presence and thus vulnerability on the mainland, whereas my monkies would welcome a diversion from their poop-flinging, since they don't have much else to do at the moment.

Re: Random Nations , Late Era (Players Wanted)
Marignon seems to be investing a good deal of effort and money into maintaining his island resort, in case anyone on the mainland happens to want to remind him where his priorities should be.

Re: Random Nations , Late Era (Players Wanted)
I think "keeping any one player from completely controlling a landmass" is a pretty good priority, personally. Calmon! Calmon! he's our man, if he can't do it, well then that's one less nation I'll have to fight my way past in the end game, I suppose. Wait, that's not terribly supportive, is it?

Re: Random Nations , Late Era (Players Wanted)
Your apes are really grazy.
First our friendly expedition corp was welcomed with an accepted peace. You use the time to defeat ulm. After conquering the last province, the first thing you did is to declare war and attack in the same turn. Your elephant mob got a bloody nose by attacking my corp.
In moment you control ~75% of the island, but you ask for support on the main land? We've only a fraction of your troops on the island.
I begin to think that your abilities are so useless that you're not able to kick some random troops back in the sea. I don't know how you manage to defeat ulm, all i can think is you also surprise-attacked them. However that won't work anymore, all be warned about the 'honor' of the apes.

Re: Random Nations , Late Era (Players Wanted)
So you'd rather have Calmon have both a solid foothold on the mainland AND complete control of the island? That certainly seems to be the greater of two evils.
Even with the damage I've done so far he's still in or tied for first in 4 graphs, with a 2nd and 3rd place to round it out, so again, I think everyone else is a lot better off with me having the island instead of Calmon.

Re: Random Nations , Late Era (Players Wanted)
Calmon: I'm merely being prudent...I assume you wouldn't be massing more troops to pursue a lost cause, so I'm guessing you have some sort of nastiness planned. I gave you warning so you could take your troops and leave, instead you decided to sink 700 or so gold into PD to kill off a few of my elephants. Again, if you're so confident that you'll lose you wouldn't have done anything of the sort.
I also never said I wanted peace per se, I just said I didn't want any trouble with you, which is perfectly true. I could have really launced a surprise attack on you and taken out your expedition team and a province, but I gave you warning beforehand so you could withdraw peacefully...you did not.
And you have more than a fraction of my income, and excellent PD to sink it into. Letting you dominate the graphs and kill me down the road at your leisure because I have nowhere to expand to wasn't my idea of a sound strategy.
As to Ulm, well, trample is a gross mismath for them early game, and I simply abused that fact. It wasn't particularly skillful, but it was effective, and given their central location on the island it was again a case of kill or be killed. Not attacking straight away before he got paralyze would have left me with inferior recruitable troops, less provinces due to our forts' spheres of influence, and much, much, much worse PD.
