Re: Blood and Booze - (Running)
To Szumo
I have just noticed that you are advertising for a substitute for your position in this game (and one other game), but I can only speak for myself and say I think it would be sad and a real shame if you had to lose all the time you have put into playing this game, and miss out on the possible reward for getting your nation to one of the top positions.
So would it help you to keep playing if the game had a longer playing time than it does now? Or will extra time not really solve your current time problems? I've only played a few turns as a substitute, so not sure how much say I can have not being one of the original players. But I would not mind having less turns each week if it meant we could keep a player who has played from the start of the game, and who is in with a good chance of winning. Since I think it is not unreasonable for someone to be given a chance to try and get the reward from their good play by the other players agreeing to longer turns if it helps.
And sorry if I've spoken out of place, but thought it best if it helps save a player from having to leave the game. As that seems the worst outcome

Re: Blood and Booze - (Running)
I'll be on a trip from 27th April till 4th May (this Friday till next one). It is unlikely (though possible) that i'll be able to make turns during that time. I'll be able to go on until the end after that - just not at the level of micromanagement that I would like to.
I tried looking to (pernament) sub for one or both of my current games but so far the thread has 61 views and no replies, so i doubt anyone will come forward - guess you guys are stuck with me
It would certainly help if we switched to longer schedule (with quickhost turned back on).

Re: Blood and Booze - (Running)
To Szumo
The only other MP game I have played so far recently had a 3 week pause to accommodate a player who was moving house, and there were no problems there with the game resuming after the break.
So maybe ask the other players if they are happy to put the game on half-pause for a week by changing the turn limit to a one week timer (with quickhost on as you mention) so that you are not forced to miss any turns, and then if you can play turns during that week then the game will still be active pretty much as normal. And if you can not play turns then the game will just be paused for a week (which is not the end of the world or the game).
I know I would have no objections to this if it allowed you to stay in the game, and a week isn't really that long at all, and certainly not long enough to lose a player in a PBEM game over (or to force a player to miss a turn at a critical stage of the game for him).
Can I please ask what the other players think about this?

Pangaea is going to blood sac everyone out of existence if not killed soon, just a heads up. Also I don't mind waiting for Szumo to return from his trip.
