Re: Smiting Season (newb-intermediate, LA, CBM 1.92) smiting has begun!
I really thought the battle of Pania would be less of a blowout...

Also seems kinda early to turn Jomon AI, since AI will just idiotically try to break a siege immediately...can we at least get a sub if Jomon is going to disappear? He's got a good many provinces still; I don't know whether he's toast but AI seems premature.

sure whatev Jomon wants... he logged on but i guess is to busy to reply to our thread. im one of his neighbors, the problem is he has nothing to hold out a seige. He is about to get manlove rushed by two nations. finding a sub is not going to change the outcome, only delay the game for the rest of us.

My scouting of Jomon is less than perfect, but if you think he's 6 turns away from even having his capitol under siege, that's a really early turnover to AI. A lot of summoning/recruiting/research can happen in that time, all of which would be frittered hilariously by the AI.

i was being generous. I give it 2-3 turns until either me or Gath is besiegeing Jomon's capital. with assualt soon to follow he has no troops left. but hey whatever way there is no hope for Jomon

I also thought the battle of Pania would be less of a blowout. I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out, though! (sorry, Ulm- it was a good fight!)
I also have no scouting information on Jomon's situation. If it's as bleak as Carpetbagger makes it sound, then I doubt it will be likely to find a sub, though I'll ask some of my friends from previous games, as it's probably not much of a time commitment. Unless shard chimes in- would be nice to hear from him.

I have excellent scouting in both Gath and Jomon lands
I do not think this should be left to AI.
The reason we play against players is for the superior challenge.
Let us delay the game until a replacement can be found.

Heya sorry for the late reply, I had been around a few timezones over the weekend and totally got the deadline wrong.
However I do aim to make sure I wont be going down easy -
Especially for Pythium.....

Meh, I was intentionly trying something wacky with my pretender this game, and I knew I was pretty stuffed as soon as I spawned on the island (the EXACT reason I wasn't happy about the map change btw); the only hope was to rush one side to establish a foothold on the mainland.
My bad luck held up though with who and what is on all three sides.
That said though, the fight wasn't that one sided, the cavalry was certainly a loss, but I did kill 15 devils I think... the infantry was mostly just a merc and what was left of my starting army (which struggles against indies at 7).
