Re: Big files...
I am actually pretty sure you are wrong on the 4 hour thing. I checked it last night and it seems to have hosted when it should (well according to the new time anyhow). That said it is a shame you missed doing the details of your turn - I am enjoying this epic struggle and don't want anything for free. Still your super army is left standing and continues to give me an headache.

Re: Big files...
I can't really think of any other rational explanation either, but still... I can't believe I miscounted so badly either.
The mind boggles at the mysteries of the universe.

Re: Big files...
I think the server treats "save game and quit" as a completed turn for quickhosting. It did it once to me early on. My dinky turns are pretty simple, though, so it hasn't been a big deal to do them all at once.
Splash screen says 17h to next host right now.

Re: Perpetuality - The 60 Player MegaGame (Signup)
The game has been crashing rather frequently lately. So I either have to restart (starting the 72 hour clock over again). Or I have to adjust the timer to a little past when the due date is (and then remember to change it back). All players should have had at least 72 hours to do thier turns.
Work has been hellish these last to days, so sorry for being out of touch. I'm going to sleep now... zzzz

Re: Perpetuality - The 60 Player MegaGame (Signup)
What should happen is this due to technical issues:
Force host should be turn off. The game should be hosted at the 72 hour interval. That way players can do their turns early and can change them later.

Re: Perpetuality - The 60 Player MegaGame (Signup)
Quick Post: Is this game actually working, or is 62 going to melt the hosting machine, lol? I'm curious about the progress of this epic accomplishment.

Re: Perpetuality - The 60 Player MegaGame (Signup)
We are down to about 20 players at this point and we are at turn 80. About 5-10 with a fair chance of winning I guess. Game has gone above most peoples expectations and no real hosting issues so far. The only issue I suppose is the fact that some people have to quit playing at some points due to real life issues and the fact that this game has gone on for a long time.

Re: Perpetuality - The 60 Player MegaGame (Signup)
Hosting times to process the turn have been getting longer... about 15-20 minutes on average I would say - sometimes longer depending on what the host computer is doing at the same time.

Re: Perpetuality - The 60 Player MegaGame (Signup)
It seems like a week has passed since the last host.
It takes me about 15 minutes to do a turn. But when you have a small empire and single digit gem producing items, managing to do a turn quickly is no great feat.
