Another idea for similar content, probably no help, is similar stuff included in the BattleTech games/universe... if I recall they had a ship combat system called... AeroTech???

Yes, they did. It actually had more to do with ground-attack aircraft, but there was a bit of ship to ship combat there.

Actually, AeroTech was a supplement to BATTLETECH, not RoboTech. 8)

I don't see why other mech-based universes couldn't be incorporated into this mod.

It would give plenty more stuff to add in the way of techs.
