Hmm, that does seem unreasonable. How high was your dominion? I.e. what was the temple check %?

Did you have the same dominion level as your opponent for that last test as well?

Both sides had a 7 dominion scale to start with and side A had 7 temples. Side B had a single temple that was not in the province of interest.

Even with fairly high dominions that is a lot of checks.. not to mention the checks for the other temples that side A had nor their home province check.

To kill someone with dominion you have to use stealth preachers/god/prophets/heretics othwerwise it is quite difficult even with higher dominion because of the way the temple checks spread.

Sadly stealth units have easy counters, which makes it difficult to use them properly if your opponent finds out what you're doing. Using temple checks is much safer but not much effective unless you use blood sacrifices (since temple check can increase dominion in another province but simple preaching won't).
