Re: Have you ever noticed
Ok, here'e the FIRST POST from the Space Empires IV thread. August 2000.
Things I noticed...
Even back then, Richard couldn't spell, and Tim loved ribbing him about it.
Master Bellisarious is the first poster name I recognize that doesn't work for Shrapnel. He posted before he even registered. Hadrian is the first registerd poster in that thread I recognize.
And even way back them people were kvetching about the shipping costs to Canada. Sheesh. Things never change do they?
And PvK's member number 18 is going to be tough to beat. Obviously he was a Shrapnel regular before Space Empires became part of the fold.

An admirable gesture, but I wouldn't have worried too much - after all this forum is already bulging with self proffered Captains, Admirals and so on=-)
Do you think a knighthood means actually means something here in the UK then?

User number 3 is Mark Sterner, a guy who was around here in the early wargame days. He had 146 Posts and Last posted in July of 2000.
Actually he is still a regular on the cgOnline forums, just not here. He will be back once we get 82nd up and running .

Re: Have you ever noticed
If one does not want to be found but yet partake in the fun, one assumes a disguise, otherwise, one would get barraged with questions, recommendations, etc, to the point it would no longer be enjoyable. Therefore, my theory is that all of MM & Shrapnel, including Aaron, are amongst us, at least at times.

Re: Have you ever noticed
There are more forums (based on SE series) than just ShrapelGames ya'know... I remeber visiting some that are now long gone - gone just about the time SG's came Online. I'm sure there are others that remember them also - I still see their familiar handles.....

Re: Have you ever noticed
I think PvK wins the contest.
PvK has a post from 31 July 2000.
This was the first thread I could get my hands on.
http://www.shrapnelgames.com/cgi-bin...&f=23&t=000001
And he just posted yesterday, so that makes him active. Wierd thing, though ... he posted 31 July 2000, and 28 Aug 2000, but then didn't post again until March 2001.
FWIW, my earliest post (also a topic) is from 19 Sept 2000.
http://www.shrapnelgames.com/cgi-bin...3&t=000062&p=2
As long as we're bragging about silly things: I've posted in 200 different topics. Who can beat that?

Re: Have you ever noticed
Oops. Just looked again at geoschmo's link. He is correct, but doesn't know July from August. Hadrian's registered post and MB's unregistered post were dated 28 July, edging out PvK by 3 days.

Re: Have you ever noticed
No numbers lower than PvK's 18 still active, except employees.
[edit: I mean on the SEIV forum.]
(Does everyone know that you can search by member number?)
