It reminds me of the ship that the Robinson family used in the Lost In Space movie. I think it was called the Jupiter 2, though I may be way off base.

You could make the engine openings face inwards and get narrower to the ends. If you have a narrow opening, stuff flows throught it faster than through wide openings, so having a ship with narrowing engine openings would give it better speed/acceleration.

Its facing away so blasts won't affect the hangar on the rear. The real reason is that the polygons I extruded it from was slanted that way... I could just knife the engines to make it straight, but really don't want to.

Ok...
Needs more ambient light.
Also, you may want to put a light source near the glow points, so as to light up the nearby hull surface realistically.
