Default MP Game - Tweaked Itemz

On Mosehansen.

You know, I usually creates games with strange rules, so on read carefully.

I want a sort of alternative game ...

Firstly I'd like to see pretenders usually aren't chosen by ppl, not limiting to humans or immobiles as I usual choose to in games I create.

I cannot set up a list for sure ... but I believe you know what I'm talking about.
Vampire Queens, Odin, Prince of Death or so on are usually taken ...
Some like Moloch or others are far less used if not avoided at all ...

I'd like to see before you get in what you consider (if you're going to play) an used and an unused pretender chassis for your nation.
We can discuss about and limit the pretender selection for every nation.

Secondly I'd like to avoid mad castling ... for this purpose I'd forbid Mausoleum and Watch Tower. If you want an easy castle take Magic Tower, but it's 120 design points.

Thirdly I'd like to avoid Draining Life combat weapons. So on Wraithsword and Hellsword are forbidden, while Blood Thorn is allowed only as Blood Magic Enhancer ... well if you get caught in a fight and you've blood thorn (thing that could happen) I hope it's in the hand of a blood mage (well blood mage isn't meaning an Heliophagus or such).
The soul vortexing armor, or spell, the drain life standard and such are allowed, as the Ice Devil with Hellsword by default (well it's only 1).

I propose an alternative... very heavy, but up to the players ...
What about allowing to equip only gold recruitable units? (Indep/Magic Site and National commander). So on a Banelord will fight forcefully with his heavy armor, baneblade and so on ... you can vote for this too.

The map will probably be IO, but I can change.
I'd prefer to see before how many players are interested in a such game.

the idea is nice but the problem is i think you can't forbid only parts .
if no wraith swords and hellswords are allowed then ppl will use soul vortex and / or get it via the armor which has lifesteal . you even allowed this . why ?!? it's kinda half-hearted .

allowing to only equip gold recruitable units is unfair too . what if someone takes jotun niefelheim ?!? the 500 gold niefel jarls will then be most likely the best SC's and jotun in general has a big advantage .

if you take the wizards tower is mad castling allowed then with this one ? i understand you in this way there .

finally the one who gets the icedevil with default hellsword has a huge advantage too.
with the limited pretenders you may take jotun with his national mage wise access to water + blood magic and very good national sc's under these rules will have a huge advantage i think.


alternative played dominion games are a nice idea and i think i would like to participate in a game with no sc's at all but the special rules you invented for this game are even further unbalancing it than balancing it .


i personally would be interested in such a game as an alternative too .
perhaps the rules should be :
-no unique summons
-no jotunheim
-no common combatpretenders like you listed above or you may not equip your combat pretenders and any immortal one is forbidden too .

i have no expierience in modding but perhaps another approach would be :
make the wraith / hell swords unique artefacts .
so only one of each can be forged and there will be a race after them . same for the armor .

soul vortex should be removed from the spell list in that special mod then too .

and perhaps the 3-5 most used pretenders like the vq .

i don't know if everything of this is possible in a mod already but most is i think and for an expierienced modder it should take not too much time too .

Removing unique summons will weaken too much some magic paths, leaving to death the best summons (banelords and wraithlords).
Blood will be totally screwed up ...

About soul vortex I agree ... the spell is fearful, but the items aren't ...since especially to get the body armor you drop your protection a lot and so you get bashed a lot.

Well, Wizard Tower costs 120 design points... Watch Tower 0 and Mausoleum 40. This is the difference.

so you may castle every province with a wizard tower but not with a watch tower ?

do you think my mod suggestion is possible ?
there you could summon all the uniques .
but since the lifedrain items would become unique items and soul vortex removed there would be a great struggle for the only 1 time existing 3 ways to get lifedrain.

from blood thorn it should be removed in the mod than that it still can be taken as a blood empowerment item but not to gain a 1 handed life steal weapon .

Sadly it's impossible to mod magic items.

Wizard Tower costs you 120 design point, this is a like magic-3 scale, or a some magic levels.
This make difference!
However we could remove too the Wiz Tower ...

but we need to find more players interested in this experimental game.
