Not that there's anything wrong with that if thats the sort of thing you like. [/QB]

Took me a while to figure out what you were talking about here.
Actually though, when I type "SEV", i read it as SE-5. Just like when I see SEIV, I read it as SE-4. Never heard anybody refer to it as SE-Ivy.

Actually now that would have been a good idea in retrospect. Too bad he didn't do that.

Re: Space Empires IV 2.0?
if the game Version actually moves to 2.xx it would be a major change because from what i know 1.00 was originally SEII, then SEIII capped at 1.17, then SEIV at 1.49 and now gold is 1.89 (i think, thats the beta). if it becomes 2.xx it would be a major change indeed.

Re: Space Empires IV 2.0?
Maybe instead of calling it SEV it can be called "SEIV Pro"

SE3 started at Version 1.00. SE4 also started at 1.00 (after the demo Version, of course). Gold only started at 1.50 (in beta Versions) because it is still SE4, just newer patches.

Re: Space Empires IV 2.0?
He could just start using letters. After v1.99 would be 1.A0, up to 1.A9, than 1.B0, etc. I doubt he'll do 280 more patches to go past 1.Z9....

Quikngruvn, you cant say for sure. with the amount of ideas and requests and wishes, it can go far beyond 280. dont you think?

Re: Space Empires IV 2.0?
Another possibility is to add another decimal point to the Version number, i.e.
SEIV 1.99.01, SEIV 1.99.02, etc
And when those are used up, go to
SEIV 1.99.99.01, 1.99.99.02, etc
and so on.

Re: Space Empires IV 2.0?
Most programmers who use that convention don't read the dots as decimal points; it's "major release-dot-major revision-dot-minor revision".
There's no reason that v1.99 can't be followed by v1.100, except to avoid confusion.
