This is why making Xenophobe races is so easy. I just make them to get pissed on everything, so you know where you stand.

I just started my first full game with the full Version and have been very dissapointed with the diplomacy AI. In the demo, I was easily able to maintain two brotherly full alliances for the entire game. My two allies were actually at war with each other, and kept asking me to break my alliance with their enemy. I always refused and they never got mad at all.

In the full Version, I can't even maintain a single treaty. Not only are the psycho-aggressive races attacking me, but so are the supposudly peacful merchant empires. The annoying thing is that they will accept a trade treaty and then cut it off for no reason, and then accept that treaty again a few turns later. This pattern makes it impossible to build up any trade. I don't know why the demo and the full (updated) Version would be so different...

I love warfare in SE4, but I also like diplomacy when it works. I just wish there would be more feedback for it. If a trading partner kept insisting that I do something and I kept refusing then it would make sense for them to break the treaty. For them to simply drop it our of the blue is ridiculous, especially for merchant empires.

The reason the demo and full Version are so different is because so many people complained about the AI's lack of aggression and changes were made. I don't think its tuned right at the moment because of the erratic behavior that has been noted by many players. I never make treaties with the AI so I don't actually see this myself.
