Re: Dominions II music&sound effects?
You can use some mp3 player like Winamp to play music in background.

I can imagine if the quality is still the same as in Dom I, which i however doubt.
...i at least hope it isn't...
But, i'll listen to both medieval and metal, and then make my decisions. I like metal!

Re: Dominions II music&sound effects?
What about sound effects? Are they recycled from the DomI "tic-toc-squeak" template ( ), or were they made anew?

I know, I already do that. The point is, if MP3 support was integrated, the game would detect when you view a battle and start playing a battle track, like in most games that have discrete battle scenes. And it appears that DomII does this. Winamp can't do such things.
The only remaining advantage of Winamp is customizability - it can play random tracks from a custom playlist. Thus, if this ability was added to DomII (trivial, compared to putting in support for battle music in the first place) it would have music capabilities on par with its competition.

Re: Dominions II music&sound effects?
Yeah it would be cool to add own mp3s to our own mods in the future.
Imagine: LotR mod with LotR soundtracks.

This is interesting. Dominions II. will rock! If the music quality is good, Dominions II will, literaly, rock.
And you can actualy pick do you want to listen to metal or medieval!
Just how many games lets you do that?

Re: Dominions II music&sound effects?
Sigh...
And here I was hoping for a C&W sound track...
That's country and western for those not in the know...
Actually I don't like C&W at all, but since I never play a game with the music or sound on (wierd eh?) I was kinda hoping for the annoyance factor for the rest of you
Yeah, that's just the kind of guy I am, hehe
