Isnt that a perfectly good reason not to have a forum period? Everything has its Pros and Cons.

As for your comment that you dont whine "Firstly, because I know you won't actually do it without at least a good portion of the forum whining loudly and shrilly about the matter." I feel that quite the oppossite is true. Most of the changes that got alot of whining got NO action, while others quietly discussed got quick attention. I think its more decided by what the devs agree with, and maybe a touch of training-the-Users-how-to-ask also.

In fact, you posting that things are done by loud whining is not only wrong in my opinion, but it could be purposely destructive. I know that many of my Posts made me sound like I was working for the company even before I was working for the company, but Posts you make sometimes make me seriously wonder if you arent working for an oppossing company.
