Re: Am I even on the right track - ship design

The ship looks good! The front triangular part of the ship appears to be kind of flat-looking and two dimensional, maybe some more depth could be added to it? The rest of the ship is great...
The picture loaded in my browser from the bottom and then upwards! Never seen that before. Pictures usually load from top down...

That's what I was going to add...the front looks too much like a 2D triangle. I think it needs a bit more "3D" to it and, perhaps, break up the 2 straight lines that form that triangular look. The rest looks fine, though! Good first effort!

For the most part, it looks just dandy!
The triangle part in the front makes it look like a weapon itself. If that's what you're going for, nifty, but I think it takes away from the "ship" idea.

Re: Am I even on the right track - ship design
Select that triangle from the side-view and drag the vertical blue box upward. That will "fatten" it on the z-axis. Then you'd have a surface on the front where you could insert a gazzillion forward cannons!

Came up with two variants and going to post them.. then I think I am going to learn how to texture stuff before I put these back up. I like the first one the best. What do you think?

Quite an improvement, Rasorow. Removing the dark grey from the center really makes the "bridge" look like it is not hanging in space. Although that would be neat too.
