Re: If you could give one bit of advice to someone
Sorry Fyron. Do not know what you mean. Do you want me to look at your refered to post, or to quote like you did? If you mean quoting, how do I do it? Still learning the how to's of message boarding.
Fuzzie
PS: is there more to this post than meets the eye? Some of the posts are confusing. It's like there is a "conversation" going on, but all the messages are not listed.

Re: If you could give one bit of advice to someone
I haven't been playing against other humans for very long, but I have learned that it is a very good idea to learn all you can about your enemy and even your allies. Then do not stop "keeping a tab" on how they fight, their weapon choices, etc. They will probably change on you. So always try to know what everyone else is up to. This is not easy to do, but it is worth trying.

Douglas said "For stock, "min/max your empire"."
Please tell me what you mean by this. Thanks!

I love the game, but I am not a expert and cant give the best, but for me, I guess it would be something like...
(excluding if you are at max ships/units) remember if you are on + resources at end of turn and no storage for them, you will never get them back, so if you have a empty queue anywhere, build something you dont really need even if it is a few mines or fighters!
|
So the question remains, what if you had this many leftover resources at the end of a turn and every ship/cnstruction yard in your empire is building ships of the baseship and larger size?

LOL LOL LOL
well I kind of meant in the beggining of the game when you sometimes have like +10000, and just buy a few units!
are you doing the same thing I usually do late on in a game, and every planet is full with monoliths and valve improvers?

Ugh.
How about "please don't break the forum formatting by posting enormous, uncropped images"...

Then, in a nutshell, you have too few spaceyards. You should be scrapping a facility on every planet that doesn't have a spaceyard to build one. And you should't be building baseships, you should be building Spaceyard Bases to add even more spaceyards.

Re: If you could give one bit of advice to someone?
If you are being attacked by a (far) larger empire, dig in. Mine all your WPs leading to his space to the max, place as many defense sats as allowed, and deploy fortress bases and defense fleets just in case he breaks through the mines and survives the sats. Station mothballed fleets at your planets/SY bases just in case he manages to survive the mines, sats and ships/bases with any semblance of strength left. If you can't support defenses that size, collapse all WPs leading to his territory and build System Grav shields. DO NOT ISOLATE YOURSELF!!! You only need to close the WPs to his space! He probably will open up another WP on you somewhere, but at least you'll buy yourself some time.
Otherwise, build up vast assault fleets somewhere secure (like a dead-end nebula system) and open a WP directly to the enemy's home system. Wham bang and you've dealt a good blow to his economy. Perhaps even crippled him, if he hasn't built up a decent economic base in other systems.
