You don't need more than a few mages pounding out bloodstones, and astral/blood is an excellent set of paths for horror spam and teleporting buffing mages (load them up with a blood stone, earth boots, and a starshine cap, and you have a seriously mobile and dangerous combat mage.
They make excellent workhorse mages at summoning, forging, and casting due to path combinations.
I've used them extensively in games, which often end with armies of mechanical men, devils, abysian warriors, and demon knights led by various devil lords and supported by communions and horror spams.
