Re: Favorite Theater
in comparison to IS2 and the SU85/su100 series firefly , cromwells and american TD's shine less (well, maybe cause i'm biased ). as for aviation i'm not an expert but somehow i doubt that the western allies had anything that could greatly outperform the sturmovik (i assume that only ground attack planes are relevant to winspww2)

Re: Favorite Theater
Eastern Front, mainly because it's the area I know the most about. But it's toss-up between the early war and late war periods.

Re: Favorite Theater
I'm a contrarian. I went with everything but the two East Front selections and late War West Front. late War bores me, as does the Russian Front. Just could never work up any enthusiasm. I guess part of it is I don't like gaming with lots of super stuff on either side

Re: Favorite Theater
Historically I prefer the Northern front; Winter War, Continuation War, Norway, ect. However I find the winter scenes to be visually hard to play in SP, so I generally just muddle through them
In game, I'd have to say early Eastern front and USSR/Poland, nice scenery, good maps, and the German uber-toys are still rare, like they should be. But I must give honorable mention to the few Spanish Civil War scenarios out there, always a LOT of fun.

If you are like me find it very hard to see whats going on when goes grey so do not play so much. I have found though if you turn move radius off it helps as greyout only happens if you turn a unit.

Thanks for the tip, I've been going though them with liberal use of the U key to clear out both smoke and grey hexs, it works but is a bit labor intensive.

Re: Favorite Theater
Looks like the East Front leads overall with East Front - Late War (1943/45) time frame ahead of the East Front - Early War. This information may help me decide on the theme for any future WinSPWW2 vs AI Tournament/Campaign so for those who haven't, keep voting.
I guess the next question would probably be, Russia or the Axis for the Player Core Force.

Re: Favorite Theater
Gotta love the 1939 invasion of poland.Ive playing generated campaigns against poland and really enjoy them.Infact September of 1939 Germany vs Poland is 80 percetn of the generated campaigns I do.The other theatre is West front Late War.North Africa and meditterean is not that interesting to but occasionally I generate a few battles and campaigns.
