ATGM's are your enemy. You will learn to hate them more than anything in this campaign. At least until the US and Germans show up with M1's and Leopards.

WinSPMBT quickly teaches you to "never leave your vehicles hanging out near the edges of treelines".

Then you must of got my files.
Armour carnage as it was,i was too rash and should not have deployed all on the road.
That desire to get there first (and 12 turn limit) worked against me.
Instead i should used something closer the intial deploy.
I was lucky to get that draw!

Re: vs AI Tournament (SAMPLE BATTLE)
Double Deuce,
I played the tournament test battle to a draw. You seemed to give the AI overwhelming odds. I mean 18 rifle squads, 2 machine guns, 2 mortar teams,1 AA gun and 3-4 atgms to the player's 9 squads with NO arty or air? I don't see how anyone could have won. The v hexes in the North forrest were impossible to hold. Enemy AI were swarming even when you poured all the apcs 30mm agls into them! All in all it was challenging but the AI had the advantage through superior numbers.

I didn't pick the enemy forces, the AI did. All I did was set up a generated campaign using the same date and nations I will be using for the live campaign. What I did was just use a custom map, set the VH and purchase the small core force. Everything but that was the AI. Since I purchased the vehicles (not really needed on such a small map) it gave the AI those extra points to spend on ground pounders).

Re: vs AI Tournament (SAMPLE BATTLE)
The battle was certainly challenging, but far from unbeatable. I got a nice marginal victory, mainly because I concentrated my forces on holding the hexes I knew were easy to hold, ignoring the hexes in the north, using large amounts of Z fire to keep the enemy infantry routed and by keeping my vehicles alive. While I lost 2 BTRs and some 30 men, the enemy lost some 150 men, and I made sure to destroy those squads to the last man to get the score.
As a side note, the huge infantry waves are the reason I usually buy the force for the AI myself. The AI often seems to ignore buying tanks or APCs and just goes for mass infantry.

Re: vs AI Tournament (SAMPLE BATTLE)
Firstly if I am reading this wrong feel free to chastise me but seems quite a bit of negative response, hate ATGMs wait till you do WW2 outnumbered etc.
Guys its a game & DD has been kind enough to devote some of his time to you, as said earlier I thought it was great fun.
I propose the following as we have to save the game at the end of each turn (grief will I remember post it me thinks) could use as a sort of bootcamp. DD could look at the 2 players that did best & they could send there saves to anyone intrested. Just save each turn to a diffrent slot each time starting at save 10.
To WW2 guys think of an ATGM as a harder to spot accurate dangerous ATG you would not parade your vehicles in front of them in WW2 same applies in MBT. So you use the same tactics as you do if you suspect guns its just they are even harder to spot. This is a great oportunity for you to cut your teeth on MBT DD has commited time to building a campaign for you & I have no intrest in who wins just want to play because it should be fun something a bit diffrent.
Changing my avatar for a week so you can see what you are facing.
