that's a bit bizarre. the phoenix is still not an especially devastating pretender choice. If you think otherwise, feel free to demonstrate this in an MP game.

he's pretty good at killing bunches of chaff. so are most things

He only implied that was a power based objection. It could be he has some other problem with what cbm does to the phoenix. Maybe he doesn't like onebattlespells.
