Re: Doom Horror spin cycle
I think you get 3per hit, 1per turn, and 1per being in combat, no matter what happens. It might be 2 for being in combat.

Re: Doom Horror spin cycle
On the few loosely related notes:
1. What happens when you wish for a doom horror? Does it join you, attack a caster, attack somebody randomly/whoever is most horrormarked, a random between joining and attacking?
2. If a specific doom horror is killed, is he gone for good or back in shape next turn? And, can the same doom horror attack several times at different places in one turn? (providing there are 5+ severely horrormarked pretenders all triggering a doom horror attack in a turn).
3. While we are on that, what happens when a pretender is dead (other than the obvious loss of a powerful unit)? Dominion plummets? Bless weakened or not working at all? Anything else?

Re: Doom Horror spin cycle
1)I read in the thread that it sticks around for a turn or so. I assume you can use it for that turn. It may have mentioned it attacking your own commanders, but I don't recall that clearly, as the nerf on it with just having it one turn is pretty severe.
2)I -assume- each doom horror can only make one attack/turn. So that's three, the others might get a regular horror, but I don't know.
3)Pretenders generate 2 temple checks and get 1 sure passed temple check/turn, except mictlan, whose pretender appears to only get the 1 passed check/turn, which seems to be able to spread (also, it looks like Mictlan's capital auto-check can spread... still not much spread... the candles still go up though, so their dominion has its positives). Bless is set a pretender design and does not change.
I've had 40 commanders with a soul contract on them (slight horror marked), and still only gotten a horror attack every 5 turns or so.

Re: Doom Horror spin cycle
1. IIRC, there's about a 50% chance it joins you. Otherwise, it probably just pops up in the province acting all cranky.
2. Like other uniques, they come back just fine if the RNG calls for them. I don't know about the possibility for multiple attacks in the same turn.
3. There's no loss of dominion, beyond not getting the pretender's domspread while he's away. The bless stays around just fine. The only penalty is that when the pretender's called back he loses one point in all magic paths, and he'll most likely have a couple of afflictions.

I believe there are 5 doom horrors: Slave to Unreason, Maker of Ruins, Hunter of Heroes, Eater of Gods, Abomination of Desolation.

Re: Doom Horror spin cycle
You need a very, very tought god to resist all of those if you're severely horror marked. Good luck Jim.

Re: Doom Horror spin cycle
I have a question to tag on about horror-marking:
If you horror-mark a regular, non-commander unit and a horror later attacks, what form does this attack take? Is it similar to as to the "send horror" spell?
If that horror-marked unit is inside a fort, does the whole garrison fight the attacking horror?
thanks in advance for your replies,

Re: Doom Horror spin cycle
If you're horror marked and it attracts a horror, the combat comes as an assassination attempt.

You can add Eater of Dreams to the list, it's one of the early ones. Not sure if there were any more of them than that. Defiler of Dreams could have been one of the newer ones, or was that a generic dream horror?

Yes, those are all there are right now. I honestly have to say that I never saw the Defiler of Dreams before. It seems that it's only being used by the Send Dream Horror spell.
