Re: winSPWW2 version 9.0 - 13.0 Consolidation patch 2020
Where would be the best place to suggest OOB discrepancies, and where users could take the burden off DRG and make changes with Mobhack? Unfortunately with the world situation I've had tons of time to research things being old and retired . BTW fantastic new icons and I cherish any input into this game which is my "chess" after decades to pass the time.

That's what the TO&E sub-forum is for.

Re: winSPWW2 version 9.0 - 13.0 Consolidation patch 2020
Yet another tour de force by Camo Workshop. Kudos to Don and Andy for their indefatigable work in making SPWW2 the great wargame it is. Especially like the new scenarios, including some from WW I and the Russian Civil War. Imagine that! Special thanks to Zovs66 (Don Lazov) for a cornucopia of conversions from venerable board games to SPWW2 and Ts4EVER for imaginative, off-beat and challenging additions to the scenario list.
BTW Ts: In Scenario 0811--Stugs at Efremovka 5/42--I noticed that 120 mm mortars in the opening barrage were causing casualties to German infantry in trenches. Given that anything less than 155 mm is ordinarily not capable of doing that, did you set it up so that infantry were moving or something else so they weren't actually entrenched? Thanks for your kind attention. Cheers!

No, I didn't do anything special with the German infantry there. Maybe mortars can cause casualties due to the steep angle of attack?

120mm mortars have bigger warhead size than say 80mm - it is W/H size that contributes to punching through the cover. Same with how 155mm arty does a better job on dug-in troops than 105mm.

Makes sense. I always felt these were the most effective mortar type overall.

Interesting. Didn't think anything less than 155mm could cause casualties in that situation. Can't recall ever having seen it happen. Or is there a difference between being entrenched and "dug-in'?

Entrenced and dug in are the same thing.
In a fire trench/tank ditch (bought with engineering points) you have a bonus above dug in IIRC - I coded them in the DOS days, and not going to dig into the spaghetti!.

This is one of the few games I always return to so many thanks for not only keeping it going but also for making improvements along the way. Got the cd version and the 13.0 patch today and cannot wait to try it all.
