'Tig - you weren't on this forum when LCC lost it. He was posting pages and pages of that kind of crap to every thread on the forum. (and several others besides)

Re: Top AI scores seen?
Oh yeah, and the lumberjack tune (now remorselessly cycling round and round in my head) reminds me: I'm working on a Monty Python design name file. How would you like to design a Beautiful Plumage Class Cruiser? A squadron of "Philosophers Song" fighters? How about a Mr Gumby Class Space Yard Ship ("I AM NOW GOING TO FIT THE CONTRA TERRENE ENGINES" *Bang* *Smash* *Crunch* *Crunch* *Crunch*
59 names so far, suggestions welcome.

bugger, you have found out about my cunning plan to roleplay the Galactic Bar & Grill Bash a la Life of Brian
I was looking forward to responding to offers of trade alliances with '20 shekels you must be mad" and "alms for an ex-leper"

Re: Top AI scores seen?
Try a forum search for "LCC", and pick up threds from around July / August Last year. You'll soon get the idea.
Anyway, getting way OT. Continue on PM if you want to talk about it further.

Re: Top AI scores seen?
Getting back to the topic for a bit, I'm currently playing a TDM Gold game where I'm in 2nd place with a score of over 1 million. The Toron have a score of over 2.5 million and still growing. Their research, intelligence and resource numbers as well as the number of systems and planets (over 250) are staggering.
I've finally gotten the upper hand on the XiChung Hive (which plagued me from about the 15th turn on) and bumped them from second place. I'm playing nice with the Toron right now because I'm not ready for them yet. I'm sure I can out slime the AI eventually but with the numbers he has, I'm sure he'll give me a tussle. Looking forward to the challange.

Re: Top AI scores seen?
I've mentioned this in the MEE AI thread. In one of my TDM Gold games, the Ukra-Tal were at 1.1M Last I looked. I know I'm in second, but I don't recall my current score.

Re: Top AI scores seen?
I tried to post this Last night & got an error message...
Anyway, I've had a few games recently where the AI got scores well in excess of 1M (even 2M, eventually). My Last pre-Gold games had pretty high AI scores; my first Gold game had multiple AI's over 1M, with Terrans the highest; and my current Gold game (with patch) has Terrans in first with 1.4M score (at turn 91, even!) and the Amon'krie in second with 977k score. I'm way behind on points, mostly because I don't build a lot of ships. I've been at war with the Amon'krie for a long time, but they're 8 systems away, with the Toltayans controlling the intervening systems. I had a partnership with the Toltayans for a long time, and then suddenly they declared war on me. It could have been a Comms Mimic (the Amon'krie were hitting me with intel pretty continuously), but not necessarily. Anyway, I'm continuing to ignore the Amon'krie and decimating the Toltayans. I'm very glad I put minefields on warp points throughout their territory. I'm even happier that I built bases at strategic locations in their territory. A combination of 1 base space yard and 1 drone-launching base turns out to be a pretty good offense. It's perfect for destroying small colonies, at least. Especially since the Toltayans focus mostly on seeking weapons, which can't target drones (MWAHAHAHAHA!!!). I may want to add more base space yards so I can build drones faster, though...
