Re: New Cantina Poll

Personally I think we should keep the old thread going... "If it ain't broken don't fix it!"... I kind of like the idea of the Cantina becomming a 'permanent' fixture here at the Forums. I vote we declare the Cantina a 'Historical thread' and try to get it to be a 'Sticky'. Imagine the surprise and pride Gt will get if he and the Cantina are honored this way.
While many people are thinking of change, I'm trying to make the Cantina the very 'foundation' of the SE:4 Forums. (Actually I think it may well already be that!)

Tha Cantina is already a permanent part of the forums. We'll just be moving it over to another venue. Why?
(a) because we like to destroy stuff.
(b) because we like to rebuild stuff and haggle nedlessly over how to name it.
(c) it's tradition. I think this will be the fourth cantina now...
(d) It's all cluttered up with stuff and baggage. Time to start afresh, let some of the old hands (like me) take a back seat and allow the new blood to reshape things. Kind of like in Babylon 5 with all "first ones".
(e) because we are obstinate and like to defy reason and logic at every opportunity. So nyer.

Re: New Cantina Poll
I voted. How come only one name on list???
Sounds like some shifty politics to me!

Re: New Cantina Poll
Well 10 out of 22 want a new name.
Maybe the question is still do we do a shopping emporium or just a cantinna.
I really feel a different venue would generate a greater variety of interaction.

Re: New Cantina Poll
Well think about it, we could have the cantina IN a shopping emporium!! Most shopping places have an eatery and pub, well over here in the uk they do! Maybe we're a nation of alchoholics, well i'm not cos i don't drink! *Runs for the door as the cantina members try and subject him to the socalled wonders of alchohol*

Re: New Cantina Poll
... A lightbulb turns on in a bubble above my head!...
hmmm,.. "The Nebula Nexus Mall, Cantina and Flea-Market." (Find anything you need, say anything you like and pay the best prices in the galaxy!)
..of course weather the 'best price' is prohibitive or cheap is entirely up to the shopkeepers!
another 2 cents from your truely!
P.S. Taz, I would like to see a 100 year old oak and mahogany bar with a shiny brass toe-rest in the new cantina. Stools would be nice, but I could live without them. If I find one I'll be sure to let you know!
Cheers!

Re: New Cantina Poll
What is with your people's obsession with restarting the Cantina? What is wrong with leaving it as it is?

He wants to pick an argument about how it would be better, in his view, that the forum go without the Cantina cause it "sucks bandwidth" for 56K Users having a huge thread in the forum.
j/k.
