Re: OT Wow, Now I\'ve seen the worst ending in Scifi
As I no longer have cable, anybody interested in filling me in on what happened in the final episode of my favorite series?

Chill out F...
As for Farscape, I have to agree that the ending was highly unsatisfactory. Anyone who wants to ttell ZA what that ending was, please remember that there may be people reading this thread who'd like the element of surprise maintained, so either avoid or at least clearly mark any spoilers.
However, to call it the worst ever ending in scifi? No way. I can think of plenty of other candidates for that, including (but not limited to) Total Recall (The film), Otherland (Excellent-apart from the ending- series of books by Tad Williams), most of the Star Trek films.

And what about the ending to V, the series? As I remember, Diane had placed a bomb on the big lizard's shuttle, and maybe the starchild was on the ship to. It was a cliffhanger, and then they cancelled the show. So you never knew what happened. Aaarrgghh!!! I hate it when the networks do things like that.

Re: OT Wow, Now I\'ve seen the worst ending in Scifi
I agree. We were told that this was the end of the season. The big story lines were resolved. It looked like we could end the show but continue the story in our minds. Then BLAM !!! and the TO be Continued ending.
Now we are left with is this really the end ????
HOW could this be the end??
Maybe there will be a made for TV Movie ???
Or are we all just messed up ????

Re: OT Wow, Now I\'ve seen the worst ending in Scifi
I don't know about anyone else, but I think Stargate must be the best Sci-Fi on TV since ST:TNG. It's also the only show made from a movie where the actors are better than the ones that originally starred.
Except for French Stewart. He rules.

Re: OT Wow, Now I\'ve seen the worst ending in Scifi
Nodachi: Sorry, you are wrong. Sci-Fi, at the end of Season 3 with Ratings riding high, signed a two-year comittment to the series. Sci-Fi then, in the middle of broadcasting season four with Ratings not quite so stellar and noting rising costs on the show, activated an opt-out clause in the contract and cancelling the before-then promised fifth season. They did this the EXACT same day that Farscape was wrapping their Last shot of the season (and it wasn't even for the Last episode, which had already shot - there was zero room to re-write the ending). In fact, the announcement for the cancellation might not have come until very near to this Last episode if not for the producer and Ben Browder breaking ranks (and Sci-Fi and Henson higher-up's orders) and telling the fans in a chatroom conversation the day after they got the news. Sorry, your info is wrong here. It is in no way shape or form the writers fault for leaving it hanging.
Dogscoff: Good call on Otherland. You want a horrible ending in Sci-Fi, people, just wait for that book series to hit TV miniseries or something. We got off easy on Farscape - intended or not, final or not, and left hanging or not, it at least fit the show's often dark humor bents perfectly.

Re: OT Wow, Now I\'ve seen the worst ending in Scifi
One thing I hope is that the price of the DVDs doesnt skyrocket with the cancellation. And for those of you not aware- the DVDs of the show contain unaired footage, since SciFi actually clips a little bit off of every episode. More evidence of their deviousness...not letting us have the full Scaper experience.
Another idea: Is anyone making Farscape shipsets? They have some great possibilities- Peacekeepers, Scarrens, Living Ships, and maybe a collection of all the other encountered ships as a "salvage" race
