Re: OT: How old are you ?
I'm 40, which means I have half an entire lifetime left to waste on 4x games!
Ten years ago a "friend" turned me on to Civilization (the original game for PC) and, having never more than dabbled in various games only to drop them out of boredom, was instantly hooked.
Thus the brilliant career of a budding C++ programmer was, well, nipped in the bud, with all spare time spent with most of the major 4x-type games since then. Didn't play SE until SE4 came out, and it was the only game receiving constant attention until SE4 Gold arrived, which is even better... it's hopeless...

Re: OT: How old are you ?
Greetings
I am 36 yrs of age. Been playing games for so long I cant even remember. My first computer was a TRS80 from IBM. ANyone remember those? My very first game on the system that got me hooked on computer games was an old game called Midway. Was a bLast. Im into all types of strategy games. I love the MOO series. Have them all. Star Control series was another good one that I love. And of course, who could forget Sid Meyers and his CIV series. Have them all still on my comp. By far though, I love SE4. I enjoy the modding that is allowed with the game. I am a divorced male. Wife couldnt understand why I found the games more enjoyable than her. (want a hint). The games didnt talk :-)
Anyway, I look forward to even more game time with SE4.

LOL, I am -stunned- that many here are my elders. I honestly expected a much younger crowd, but nonetheless I am pleased to know that most of you are older... I am a young pup here at 20.
21 in a week or two. *cheers* Oh YEAH.

Grayhorse - Do you remember Starflight I & II?
I loved those games, so much freedom... Run around, upgrade your ship, trade with aliens, explore for worlds, etc... that open-endedness was great.

Yep, I remember that game fondly as well. Still my favorite from the golden years is Midway. Geo said he found it and is working on getting it to work with current basic. I hope he gets it to work as I use to love playing that game for hours.

Re: OT: How old are you ?
Awesome, never heard of Midway, and never really got into MOO either. Im interested in hearing about them though. I was a VGA Planets/Stars! man before SEIII.
