King of the Hill-Asmala vs Joachim 2404.4
Borders are now established and we both got about equal pieces of the galaxy. No proper battles yet though I'd bet soon there will be. Joachim has two fleets waiting over warp points in my side of the system. I think the fleets are only waiting for mine sweepers...
Joachim has lead in scores all the time, so every time I open a new turn I check anxiously whether a giant fleet has appeared somewhere. I haven't seen Joachim's newest ships, but I believe he had a tech advantage. At least his old destroyer designs were quite a lot of more advanced than mine at that time.
(I've been quite busy now that I started my studies in university so there have been lack of updates)

Time for an update, 2405.5.
This is one of the strangest KOTH games that I have had... I will elaborate more when it is over.
We finally had a fleet battle, My 20 obsolete ships were trounced by Asmala's fleet that had just warped into my space. My ships were moving to the warp point. I will explain what was going on after Other than this I have whacked a couple of his colonies and stole breathers. I am still (amazingly) in first place - even after the ship losses.
The map is good in that there are at least 5 different avenues of advance. We have both put a lot of ships into the inner route of the spiral but have been sparing with only a few ships on the outer, where I have got a few of his colonies. Asmala surprised me at one point by actually having 100 mines over a planet at the border, I lost a few ships trying to kill it earlier but only had one emergency build worth of mine sweeping (about 20). Didn't think anyone would bother commiting the time and resources to that many mines....
We now are staring at each other with his ships on my side of the warp point looking at my fleet base with up to date tech ships - the old stare them down.
Weird game!

Thanks for the update, Joachim. Sounds like another good "HILL" game. Can't wait to hear all the details you are holding back .

Re: Are you tough enough to be the \"King of the Hi
Time for an another update, 2405.6
Two more bigger battles occured. My fleet of 35 ships against his ~20. No losses for our fleet, Joachim lost all ships. Another battle was my 31 vs his 20+ ships. I lost 4, Joachim all. This was enough to raise me to the first place in scores.
There's still one bigger battle upcoming, since Joachim has 30 ships in the same system I've the second fleet.

Asmala,
I think I messed up on my empire for my KOTH game with parabolize. Is the Geo Balanced mod the one where you don't select "None" atmosphere? If so, I sent the wrong Emp. & could we please restart?

Yes it's that mod. Sorry I should have said something before it started.

I play that mod a lot and I know others don't so much, so I try to make a habit of telling my opponent. A good habit to get into

Actually, I'm just stalling. I see Slynky on the next level. I figure that even if I win, I lose.
