It affects all eras, however, the Luck scale does have some protection against it. For example I've only had it happen once in Luck2, and never in Luck3, no matter how many turns I run.

Also I think it grows in chances the more kills/advancement into the HoF you do.

Misfortune 2 or 3 you will get hit by it, some games very often.

Fix yes, but hot no. It will be fixed in the next patch. I don't know when it will be ready but it won't be this week.
It's a pity. Having your pretender/HOF SCs killed by a bug can ruin MP game for the player.

I hope fix will come out soon. I also hope none of my MP game hosts would upgrade to 3.01, but they all did. ((

Weakening the Hunter of Heroes should be easy enough. He is the only horror affected by the bug.
It might be a very good idea actually. Kindof player-made hotfix.

I haven't played with dom moding yet. Is changing stats of HOH easy to do? If so, if someone would do it a post link to his mod on the forum, it would be awesome.

The only problem is : a mod can only change the hunter stats for games started with it.

After getting hit with morph bug after defeating The Hunter of Heroes I wanted to check if the battle vs him always result in morphing. But he has never attacked since then (I could think that he stayed dead in the same game, but he hasn't attacked in other game either). Curious...
My guess is the Hunter of Heroes bug only effects the early era, but I haven't heard anything official.
Nope, I just saw it on my 1st hosted pbem turn with 3.01 in a MA game. It killed my prophet, I killed the patch (reinstalled 3.00 and reran the turn)!

Or games started with ANY mod. That mod can be added "inside" the other mod, if mods can still be changed after the game has started. Of course, then everyone playing would have to download the new, "patched", mod, and the "patched" mod's filename would have to be the same as the original mod's... but at least in theory, it's possible.

Tried several games with luck +2 or +3, and got attacked at least once or twice each game after a few years.
If luck indeed reduce the chance of attack, I don't want to know how it would be with misfortune ! ^_^

HoF ranking might indeed increase the chance of attack, but even then, it should be something very rare, that happens once in 10 games or less, not several times each game.

I like the concept of a horror hunting famous heroes, but playwise, this should not happen so much (currently it seems worse to be in the HoF that to be horror marked), and should not happen to pretenders

Servers should get in the habit of making a backup copy of at LEAST the dom.exe they are using when they patch. In case players dont want to patch for any reason then you can host the game on the old exe while still using the new exe for other purposes (hosting other games or playing)
