If it's going to be seen alot, it should be somewhat simple. If it's possible to make different effects for different shield types or weapons, then you could save the really fancy ones for rare and unusual stuff.

The other thing is that we can't see them in action. Where effects are involved, a large part of it is in how it looks in real-time.

TNZ Shield Effects Mod Version 1.00

Five new shield hit effects are included. Just rename the bitmap image you like to shieldhit_01. [img]/threads/images/Graemlins/Flag_NewZeland.gif[/img]
