I love Bogus
I had a scout in enemy territory, watching the main enemy army lumbering towards my front. I knew I did not have enough troops to stop them, I knew they were going to hammer me. I expected them to make it to my capital before I had a chance of stopping them. Then I get a battle report from the enemy province right next to my front.
Bogus had appeared and trashed the army! They took very heavy losses and were scattered. I was able to step in and mop up the smaller armies and take a few provinces. No idea where Bogus went, but he saved my nation!

Re: I love Bogus
Bogus is a Troll Warrior. He appears in event, accopmanied with by a Troll Archer (who aims at commanders!), a Dark Knight riding a gryphon and a Battle Mage of some kind protected by illusions. They use various magical items and have few unique items, like Bogus' ring "Precious".
They are also mentioned in other events, e.g. when they rescue some of the captured blood slaves.

Re: I love Bogus
Bogus and his crew are a random event which calls up what is apparently a playing group from the developers desktop days. Its also the old name of their company before it was Illwinter (Bogus Games if I remember right).
A story like this is why I sometimes mention that random things like events should be controlled by a switch setting. Solo players like me would like to have more of them, and many multiplayer games would turn them down or completely off since they like to KNOW that strategy won the game rather than a stroke of luck (for bragging rights).

Re: I love Bogus
The black knight also targets commanders, a very nasty trick is to charm or hellbind him and then copy him command into your thugs and SCs without buffs.

There is one, both from the GUI and the commandline.

I can't understand this desire for Dominions, since order/turmoil and luck/misfortune dominions are core game concepts and major strategic choices.

Re: I love Bogus
What's the big deal with the Greenstone armor? Its stats don't look that great. In fact, I usually throw it away if all my melee commanders have body armor on.

Re: I love Bogus
I should have sceencapped this, but...
I'm playing Early Arco (I love that Golden Age!)
I see an army of amazon, usual flying horses and that sorta nonsense, so I go to invade.
Turns out the flying horses include a Dark Knight, because my scouts failed to report that Bogus and Crew were there.
Greeeat.
So, I decide to give the place a pass, and go after easier enemeies. I plan to go back...and then notice that some Troglydytes have shown up.
Wonderful.
Ok, going to attack it later still-
And then the Fort-motte-and-bailey goes up.
I suspect that had I looked more closely, there probably would have been Barbarbians and Knights as well.

Eh, I've gotten Greenstone armor before and thought it sucked - decent protection, but very high fatigue. There something the stats and description didn't say about it?
