Re: Anyone interested in a v2.08 game?
Yes, what shall we do?
I say let's try Esben's server to host.
What parameters do we want: what map? indy strength? research difficulty? richness?
Esben's server does not give us the option to set the number of starting provinces, however.
Finally, what should the hosting frequency be set to, and when should we start?

I'm game for that. So, just so I understand how it works: one person makes all the settings and submits them to start the game, then everyone else connects via IP/DNS entry like you would in a normal MP game...correct?

I really like Karan. I am very new to the game, and thus very slow against indies, so if I were choosing, I'd say somewhere between 3-5 for indy strength. I like normal research and richness.

All the more reason I'd vote for between 3-5 strength.

Patrik had suggested once per day, at midnight. That seems reasonable to me. I'm game for starting pretty much anytime after 8:00 Pacific tonight, or we could start tomorrow to make sure everyone's available and no one's rushed.

Correct. I could start the game and post the isp and port here once we decide on a map, but...
Esben's site has only the maps that came on the CD, so no Karan. Of the default choices, I am partial to Aran. What do others think?
All your suggested settings are fine with me.
I am also in favor of starting tomorrow, so no one is rushed, as you say.
On a side note, I went to the Illwinter site, and saw about three different Versions of the Karan map. Which one(s) should I download for my personal use?

Re: Anyone interested in a v2.08 game?
I would be in favour of Zen hosting instead of the other option, if we can't play on Karan or with several starting provinces with that option.
My preferences would be:
Kingdom of Karan
4 or 5 starting provinces
6 indie strength
normal richness
renaming on
If people are into that, and Zen is still willing to host then I am good to go.

I will host it Patrik. And if you'd like I would play as well.
Tell me what you'd like the settings and schedule and I can adjust it and set it up.
