Oh yeah, you could stick the Blood Pebble Armor on the soulless you get from Life After Death, assuming there's no check against turning undead into a troll.
I think the OP just wanted a mobile form, so a troll would do nicely.
I did a quick check of the Lycanthrope's ammy, and it did not change 2 blood fountains even after 200 turns.

Well so I think we can conclude from all those test that immobile pretenders can't really escape their fate, except maybe through the ankh or life after death.
