Re: Are you tough enough to be the \"King of the Hi
Parabolize vs Slynky - 2409.3
Well, looks like it's time to call it a game. Thought I'd give a "riot run" a try but having 2 of the 3 "riot" fleets whacked without hardly any damage to Parabolize's fleet has left my empire open for a run and even though he doesn't have any panels on his fleet, I only have 10 systems to run through while he has about 23 for my fleet to run through (and even though I have panels in my fleet, it's not enough and it is losing more fuel than it's gaining). Besides, he probably has another fleet waiting for my remaining fleet.
Out-teched in almost everything (except panels...LOL), including another colony tech, and not being able to touch his fleet...seems time to find a towel and throw it in.
Hope you don't think I prolonged the game when, in your eyes, I didn't have a chance. I thought I had a small chance. And Lasted 93 turns from a "locked-in" start.
Good game, my friend! One more win and you're in line to see if that throne fits your butt (wink).

No I don't. Actually up to about turn 70 I thought you had a good chance to win. You were in 1st you know. When I started this game I told myself I wasn't going to do anything silly, just kill you with the pure economic might I have made in the past. So what did I do? Everything but build a big empire. Around turn 70 I started to build like mad. 90k to 350k resources in about 20 turns. Why I didn't do it sooner I just don't know.

Well Ragnarok, do you have any preferences for settings for our game??

Up to around turn 85, I never had more than 35K in research. Left me with DUCs the whole game (surprised to see that on your ships by turn 93). When I launched my assault in 3 different locations, I had 129 ships, which were slow to build because I couldn't afford retro-fitting. Also, something weird in the Balance Mod I never noticed...all asteroid fields are 300% but the first time you mine one, it drops to 250% (and then a single percent after that). Strange.
It was an exciting game despite the game's inability to place people equally spaced over the galaxy (one of the biggest problems with the game, in my opinion, because it tends to detract from playability more than other problems that still remain).
I'll get to the site tonight and we'll see how many points you snatched .

Re: Are you tough enough to be the \"King of the Hi
Thanks Parabolize! I will recall you when I make my speech after taking the lead of the Ratings. True enough, it is slightly odd that I should be second when I have been beaten quite soundly by some other players, but who am I to complain?
Slynky, the bug you mention was brought up a few days ago by Q, so it is not something related to the Balance mod. Asteroid fields with a value of 300% seems to drop to 250% at once, because of Some Glitch. I guess it is linked to having 300% as the maximum value for resources, as 299% fields do not have this problem.
