Re: Mictlan\'s Pretender
Cainehill, that's the way I'm thinking of going as well, actually (own business). Got any pointers?
BTW everybody, Pangaea snuck attack me! Take a look at the leaderboard and you'll see that he's grown substantially. He took a bunch of my undefended territories after years of peace. The treacherous bastard!
If we let him continue he's going to be too strong to stop! So step up and fight the power before it's too late!! Attack him now while his troops are away against me (although they'll soon learn the error of their wild ways....) MUHAHAHAHA!

Sorry, but I had to attack someone to keep up with Ulm. Man was weak, Abysia was crippled and I hate fighting C'tis, those plus you accounts for all my borders.
I would be happy to work out a peace agreement if you would cede some terriitory, I assure you constant raiding would reduce your income more.
Oh, and no I did not attack Caleum.

Heh. My only pointer, which doesn't help you much, is to have a client from the get go. Was freelancing via Robert Half for 3 months, the client wanted me to leave them and go independent so he'd pay less, and I'd get paid more. Given I hadn't seen anyone else in New Mexico who needed high end skills, I jumped. Haven't figured out yet whether I'm making more - suspect I may be, just because so many things wind up being deductable from income _before_ it's counted as income.
Oh - guess that is a pointer. Start keeping track of _everything_, and get an account just for the business, one that gives you check images with your statement. Even little things add up - my (cute) accountant got me to figure out mileage, since 44 - 48 cents a mile adds up, when you figure 15 percent of that gets dropped from self employment tax (Soc Security, Medicare), and at least 15 percent from income tax, and then there's state income tax. And find an accountant you can get along with, who specializes in small businesses. Good luck to you - with Pangaea, and the business

Re: Mictlan\'s Pretender
Cede my rightful territory? BAH! I will take back everything you've taken and then I will march into your forests and burn them down! I'll weed out every last goat man and string them up by the horns and skin them alive and then scorch the bloody corpses to ash! I'll save you for last.
