Final Comments
I didn't get all the flags, but I was concerned about the distant ones to begin with. The center sector flag I didn't get to was the second most distant flag and the center was the scene of a very major fight. That fight might have delayed me enough to keep me from getting to that last flag OR I was too distracted policing up routed units to pay attention to the time and distance. It's difficult to say at this point, but I'm willing to believe I could have shaken one or two units off a turn earlier and headed to the objective.
Looking at the Chinese force, it appears to be about regiment strength. The AI had four infantry companies (two mech, one motor and one light) and two armor companies. There were also a large number of unattached units. The battle went pretty much as expected. As much as 50% of my casualties can be chalked up to the enemy rockets. They were on target quite a bit.
The next battle is an assault. It should be interesting. I haven't had one for quite a while.
I've attached the save just before I ended my last turn.
