Re: Rise of the Remorhaz Society
And we will read about it and enjoy it regardless. Long live the Remorhaz Society!

Re: Rise of the Remorhaz Society
What about a state funeral for the dead admiral and those who died?
A space borne memoral station dedicated to the heros of the Battle of Rage.

Heavy Cruisers are a while off yet...but the next warship will definately bare the name of Shiro Sakazawa! They did launch a warship, but she was the lead ship in her class, and so had to carry the class name, RSS Javelin. Besides, she's not a Sakazawa-type ship; she's all missiles.
Atrocities,
To be honest, I hadn't thought about writing a state funeral, but I think I will now. Thanks for the idea!
It's going to take about six months for the bodies to get back to the core worlds, so look for this in the future.
Paul1980au,
I'm certainly hoping that the story lines stay exciting! Hopefully, I won't run out of ideas, but the Ukra-Tal are proving to be a very interesting enemy, and the Romulans will come sniffing around for sure, so there should be plenty of excitement!
Thanks for reading everyone! Please, keep the feedback coming!
Coming soon...

Re: Rise of the Remorhaz Society
You know, just because a ship explodes into fiery debris, doesn't mean that the Hero dies...
They do have space suits after all. They might have a benevolent god that sees fit that the unlikely is made likely and they are picked up by a passing advanced scout of the Urka Tal, made a prisoner, only to escape/rescued later, after suffering some of the most heinous torture imaginable, and then lead a new fleet to victory...
I for one won't believe anyone in particular is dead unless/until I read about a body (but then, you might get around even that...) So maybe Sakazawa isn't out of the picture yet.
Just a thought.
Well done BTW.

Re: Rise of the Remorhaz Society
Clark,
You are right about that, but I tend to let the chips fall where they may. When I played the Battle of Bardron VI, and saw them lighting up Taurus like a christmas tree, I briefly thought about ejection seats, or compartments being thrown from the wreckage, but decided against it. His number was up. The war continues.
Here is a mention of the lucky few that survived the destruction of RSS Ceta:
Quote:
RSS Ceta was the next target of the Rage. Her gunnery crew was delivering very accurate fire and had destroyed two of the Rage batteries, but it was not enough to help her survive. The beams quickly overwhelmed her shields, and methodically tore the destroyer apart. Her bow tore away as one Rage beam sliced the ship in half. Debris and gasses filled the space around the ship as another Rage beam tore into Ceta’s exposed compartments. This beam burned down the length of the ship, reducing the interior of the ship to molten slag. With no structure to contain them, the engines tore away from the shell of the hull and continued on their path toward Bardron VI, as if eager to escape the carnage. Only five of her crew would survive the battle.
|
That's why I am happy that Gina is now a senior officer. She sits in an office now. Nothing less than glassing the planet (or an assassin!) would be needed for her to die, and even then, they would probably save a shuttle for her.
Sakazawa was going to take command of Ukra-Tal fleet formally after the Rage were defeated, and may have even replaced Urian. But, this worked out the way it did.

Re: Rise of the Remorhaz Society
hey - this looks like the same AAR that I'm reading over at the FOF Dynasty forum... is it?
if so, should I start reading over here or do both threads contain the same info?
I'm up to the part where the Norak surrendered...

This is the same, and they are both updated when a new chapter is written.
You have a ways to go, but it get's better as it goes. At least I think so! Anyway, hope you are enjoying it!

Re: Rise of the Remorhaz Society
Sachmo,
You are in the drivers seat, and really, my suggestion isn't born out of a great love for Sakazawa per se, just a general idea related to possible plot points.
A fallen leader, in the hands of the enemy, unknown and forgotten, he is discovered by accident via some secret ops plan, which leads to either a special clandestine operation to save him, or the current one having to choose between success of the primary mission or saving the lost soldier- the people back home that never gave up hope, or maybe did and moved on with life, the return of the leader with the vital information that just might turn the tide, though broken, struggles to heal and deal with the inner demons that still haunt.
Suddenly taking this moon, or capturing a particular enemhy transport takes on new significance... or the returned leader exacting unpalatable levels of vengence upon the inncoent population that once tortured him, taking extreme risks with his men, or becoming too timid to act causing the threat of mutiny to loom overhead...
Just ideas to mull about, not that you need any help.
